THE HOUSE OF LIGHT
Inspired by "House of the Rising Sun," the "House of Light" is a music pavilion nestled in Forsyth Park, Savannah, Georgia. Serving as a hub for live rock performances, its architecture pays homage to the legendary French rockstar Johnny Hallyday and his Gibson ES-335 guitar—the inspiration behind its sleek, concrete structures. Contrasting these solid forms, the pavilion is capped by tinted, translucent dark fiber roofs, allowing the vibrant hues of sunrise and sunset to permeate, symbolizing hope amidst life's complexities.
The irregular, triangular shape of the pavilion mirrors the protagonist's journey in the song—a blend of confusion and freedom. Sunlight streaming through not only represents hope but also accentuates the venue's allure, casting a captivating spotlight.
At its heart lies a glass floor, reflecting the sky and translucent ceiling above, adding depth to the immersive experience. As day transitions to night, the "House of Light" transforms, pulsating with live music under the Savannah sky, uniting communities in the shared love of art and expression.
